L-KOPIA all over North America and LKO back in Hallandsås Tunnel

[11/30/15]

Gary Mitchell of L-KOPIA is soon finishing up the fieldwork on a commuter rail system in Toronto, Canada. L-KOPIA covered 220 miles of heavy traffic main tracks in 13 days. Gary should be back in Crown Point, IN on December 3rd. L-KOPIA crew Hank McLaughlin and Tony Rivera did finish the 2015 season for our largest customer in Texas on November 18th. Hank and Tony are now on their way to a clearance survey in Albany, New York.

LKO Teknik and Per Arne Pettersson was back in Hallandsås tunnel in mid-November. This was the final survey before opening the two tunnels to regular traffic on December 13th. November was a very busy month for LKO with surveys from Northern Sweden to south of Denmark. The Danish survey was a ballast profile survey for a railroad contractor. Bane Denmark requires a verification ballast survey after any major track work that involves the road bed.

This picture is from one of the two tunnels in Hallandsåsen. Both tubes are 8.7 kilometers long. It took 23 years to finish the tunnels (please read more in our August 2015 newsletter).
